Larry Edward McClain

Larry Edward McClain passed away peacefully Saturday May 27, 2023 at his residence in Alberta, AL at the age of 76. He was born April 6, 1947 to the late John and Ruby McClain. He worked and retired from Weyerhaeuser then he moved to Gulf Shores, AL and sold real estate for several years.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday June 10, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Point. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.

He is survived by his son, Mark McClain; his daughter, Molly McClain Bowen; 7 grandchildren; 3 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris McClain Danovsky.

She was born May 11, 1948 to the late Robert Terell Anderson and Mattie Catherine Hill Anderson. She was a paralegal for Brown Law office for many years before retirement. She was former president of Golden Triangle WMU where she was involved in GA's and Mission Friends. She was a member of Cross Point Church in Starkville and an active member of Friends Forever.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday June 3, 2023 at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Robertson officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Bailey, Tanner Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, Joseph Salmon, Denver Mitchell, Mike Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Amber Borden & Staff at Baptist Oncologist & nurses at Cancer Infusion Center.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Mitchell Sr. of Sturgis; her son, Edwin Mitchell Jr. of Mathiston; her daughters, Jeanette Catherine Mitchell Bailey of Starkville, Treasure Katelyn Salmon of West Point; 5 grandchildren, Memory Taylor, Corey Bailey, Victor Mitchell, Tanner Mitchell, Denver Mitchell and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Beverly Ann Mitchell; great grandson, Jace Salmon; brother, Bobby Anderson; sister, Sandra McLemore.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 42 Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Visitation with family and friends will be 6- 8 PM Friday June 2, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints in Starkville and 2: 30 to service time Saturday at the church in Florence. Burial will follow in Shields Family Cemetery. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. John G. Shields, Jr. of West Point; sons, Isaac Seth Shields of OK, J. B. Shields of Richland, Lewie K. Shields of West Point; daughter, Alice Faye Ann Shields of West Point; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Shields, Brantley Shields, Andrew Shields, Savanna Shields, Connor Shields, John Austin Shields; many cousins and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Brantley.
