COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES

All “Community Announcements” are published as a community service on a first-come, first-served basis and as space allows. Announcements must be 60 words or less, written in complete sentences and submitted in writing at least five days prior to the requested dates of publication. No announcements will be taken over the telephone. Acceptance of your announcement is no guarantee that your announcement will run. The editor reserves the right to refuse announcements. West Point Luncheon Cicitan Onion Sale: Vidalia Onion Sale will begin shortly. The Club wishes to thank all who have purchased from us in the past and we would like your continued support this year. The onion sale is the club's only fundraiser and the proceeds are used to support our public service endeavors. The cost of onions is $10 per 10 lb bag. To preorder onions, patrons may call any member of the West Point Civitan Luncheon Club. West Point Luncheon Civitan Club meets each third Wednesday in the Justice Building on West Main Street in West Point.

Baptist Cancer Center – Golden Triangle in Columbus and Starkville is now offering FREE PSA screenings for men. This is a simple lab test for men who: are age 40 or older, have no previous history of prostate cancer and have had NO PSA lab test performed in the past nine months. The screenings will be offered at Baptist Physicians Office at 305 Carver Dr., Starkville from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Sept. 16, Nov. 18 and Jan. 20, 2023 and at the Baptist Cancer Center in Columbus at 345 Baptist Blvd. from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm Aug. 19, Oct. 21 and Dec. 16.
